Flash Drive Not Detected? explication is Here

There can be some reasons for Flash Drives not being detected by your computer.
First your computer is not able to furnish drivers for your Flash Drive. Now, for your information, you do not need to install any drivers from covering if you are using Windows 2000 Sp4,Windows Xp or Windows Vista as they come with native withhold for these devices.
If you are mental that you are already using one of these versions of windows still your computer is not able to mount your Flash Drive. Don't worry, that's why I am writing this article. Just read on...
If your are not on one of these Windows version then your problem can be admittedly resolved by just installing the drivers which you get on a disc that comes with your Flash Drive. If you did not receive any disc, try checking out the manufacturer's website and it should be there for sure. If still no luck, then try contacting me....

Remember, all is explained here assuming that you are on Windows Xp but need not worry as other Windows like Vista should work the same way.

Recycle Printers

Let's come back to the topic..

There are some possible reasons for Flash Drives not mounting on your computer. Mentioned below are few of them:

Drive Letter Conflict

Flash Drive not formatted properly

Windows want some patch or update
Problem with the Usb port
Physical connection problem

So, let's start with the first one, that is, drive letter conflict.

Now, this can be the problem when you are trying to use your Flash Drive in a network environment. The best possible clarification to this problem is to turn the drive letter assigned to Flash Drive. This can be done by going to Disk management and right clicking on removable Drive and then clicking on turn Drive Letter. You can select any drive letter which is not assigned by windows to any drive or partition in any computer inside a network. Also, before changing the drive letter it's recommended to check if your Flash Drive is showing in expedient employer under Disk Drives. If it's not there that problem can be something else.

If changing Drive Letters does not help and drive is showing in expedient employer then probably you should try disconnecting that computer from the network by taking out the network cable or if you are inside a corporate environment then try contacting you It deptt to know the drive letter not being used anywhere.

Let's talk about the second scenario. If the drive is not formatted properly that means that it's mounting up and being detected by the computer as well. It's just would be giving a message to Format the Drive when trying to access it. This can happen if the File ideas has corrupted on Flash Drive or its not formatted in the supported format. For example, if you are trying to use a Flash Drive formatted in Ext2 file ideas in Windows Computer. The only clarification to this problem is to format the drive in the supported format. For windows you should always format the drive in Fat or Fat32 and in Macintosh you should use Msdos as this will also be supported by Windows computer. Please note formatting the Drive will Erase all data. So, if you have any leading data kindly try using a different computer to see if drive works or touch a Data recovery company. If you want some reference kindly leave a comment.

Also, if you are not able to format the Flash Drive, please try using the Hp Usb Disk storage Format Tool. It's made by Hp but works on commonly all Flash Drives.

Now let's talk about problems that can happen because of any updates or patches. No matter if you have the latest service pack for your Vista or Xp computer. Still, there are few updates or rather say patches which need to be installed if you face any such problem.

Vista Patch
Please find the link to Vista Patch at the end of this article.

As per Microsoft the patch will fix the following issues:

" When the computer resumes from a suspend state or from a hibernation state, the computer stops responding. Additionally, you receive a "0x9F" stop message on a blue screen.

" The computer takes a long time to resume from a suspend state or from a hibernation state.

" The computer takes a long time to resume from a suspend state or from a hibernation state when you use a Via controller.

" The computer stops responding when you use an Authentic Usb fingerprint reader. Additionally, you receive a "0xFe" Stop error on a blue screen or a "0x9F" Stop error on a blue screen.

" The computer stops responding when you use a Usb Bluetooth audio device.

" The computer takes a long time to resume from a suspend state or from a hibernation state when you use an Enhanced Host Controller Interface (Ehci) controller.

" The computer stops responding when you remove a Usb device. Additionally, you receive a "0xFe" Stop error on a blue screen.

" When a computer resumes from a suspend state or from a hibernation state complicated times, you receive a "0xFe" Stop error on a blue screen.

So go and install this even if you are facing a different problem linked to but not similar to this.

Another patch for Xp service Pack 1 is also contain at the bottom.

There are chances of problems with Usb ports as well which happens rarely but the possibility is still there. The best way to identify is to attach any other Usb expedient on the same port and check if that expedient works or not. For Example, Usb printer. Also of you are using a Desktop and inserting the drive in some front Usb port then try using some port at the back.

Here , I would like to add one more point. If you have a high capacity drive like 8 Gb and you are trying to use it on an old computer then due to inadequate power withhold the drive may not mount properly.

Sometimes, even if the icon for removable disc appears under My Computer, the drive may not work properly as the complete capacity will not be mounted in case of inadequate power. You can check this by right clicking on removable Disc and then clicking on Properties. If one this window, both free and used space is showing 0 Kb then this can be the possible problem. In order to fix any issues linked to inadequate power furnish you can purchase Usb Power Hub from any computer store and attach it to the Usb port. What it does is that it will turn the low power supplied by Usb port to miniature high power.

But, remember this problem commonly happens in case of old computers. Before purchasing Usb power hub, you can also try the back port of your computer if you are on Desktop.

And Last but not the Least, improper corporal connection is the normal cause for Drives not getting detected. This may happen if Usb port or connector on Flash Drive has bent or physically damaged due to which drive is not able to make a touch with pins on Usb port. In this case, you should also look the inside area of port or connector and if any damage found please take it to some local technician of Drive manufacturer to get it fix.

So, this was my first article. Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks

How To Recycle & Refill Kodak Printer Ink Cartridges

Recycling printer cartridges has highly vital benefits for the society. The buyer gets a huge economic benefit, and the environment insuperable benefits. Recycling cartridges is a means to save money and fuel, sell out garbage and preclude pollution. Many printer and cartridge associates have taken the initiative to recycle by refilling or remanufacturing. Hence one way of recycling is to send the cartridge back to the place from where the cartridge has been purchased. Another easier way is to refill the cartridge and reuse the recycled one.

Recycling or refilling of some printer cartridges is highly easy that anyone can refill but in some cases refilling can be messy and difficult.

Recycle Printers

Kodak Printer Ink Cartridges (One Color)

In Kodak printer ink cartridges the ink is retained due to the proximity of internal toady in the cartridge. The following steps can be used for the easy refilling of these cartridges.

1. Spread some absorbent material like a newspaper or a towel in order to avoid mess.

2. Originate a hole in the top lower flat exterior using a drill or a heated pin. Drill a hole 1/3rd of the way from the edge. Make the hole where the letter 'K' is written.

3. Fill ½ of the syringe bottle with ink about 10 to 15ml.

4. Insert the needle into the cartridge and inject slowly into the sponge. Inject deeply so that the toady gets saturated.

5. You can reseal the hole but it is not necessary.

6. Expect some dripping but for greater results leave the cartridge overnight. Seal it if you have to converyance it.

Kodak Printer Ink Cartridges (Colored & Photo Cartridge)

The colors of ink used in these cartridges are:

o Red (or magenta)

o Blue (or cyan)

o Yellow

The first step for refilling ink cartridges remains the same:

1. First the lid has to be removed. This can be done with a sharp knife at the intersection of colored and black plastic. Take off the lid.

2. Insert a pin or toothpick into each hole in order to check the dissimilar colors in chambers.
3. Fill the syringe bottle about 1/8th with ink which is 5ml for each chamber.

4. Insert the needle into the cartridge and slowly inject so that the internal toady gets saturated. All colors may not empty fully so the toady will not soak fully.

5. Repeat the 2nd and 3rd step for the other two colors and fill the chambers with dissimilar syringes.

6. Place the cap back on top and tape it.

7. Expect some dripping but for greater results leave it overnight.

Kodak Printer Laser Toner Cartridge

The refilling of Kodak laser toner cartridge should be done at a place where there is no breeze. It is flammable so work where there is no flame. Also do not inhale as it is irritating. The three basic types of Kodak laser toner cartridges are:

o Canister: tube for holding toner

o Drum: cartridge with gears and a drum with a gelatin coating

o Toner and developer: similar to drum cartridge but uses toner and developer both.

Kodak Canister Cartridge

1. Spread some absorbent material like a towel or newspaper. Find a plug at the end of cartridge.

2. Take off the plug. If you don't find it then Originate a hole which does not come in the way of the paper path (a flat plastic surface).

3. After creating a hole thought about Take off the shavings.

4. Shake the bottle of toner and pour the whole bottle into the cartridge with a funnel or paper funnel.

5. Put the plug back and seal with a black electrical tape.

6. Setup in the printer.

Kodak Drum Cartridge

These are complicated cartridges. The 'pretty' drum may have three colored coatings: red, blue or green. Before refilling search its toner and waste hopper following these points:

1. search the drum and imagine that it runs down to the end of the cartridge.

2. Lay it down to that the drum runs from left to right in front of you. The side near to you is the 'near side' and the one far from you is 'far side'.

3. One of these sides is larger than the other.

4. The largest side is 'toner hopper' and smaller one is 'waste hopper'.

Now to refill supervene the following steps.

i. search the drum but do not touch it. It can be under a shutter.

ii. Find the toner hopper. You will see a penetrative plug on one side. Take off it. If you do not find it then Originate a hole in the toner hopper away from the paper path.

iii. Vacuum the drum of shavings but do not touch the drum.

iv. Shake the bottle of toner and pour the whole bottle into the cartridge with a funnel.

v. Seal the hole with the pug or a black electrical tape.

Toner Recycling - The Disposable society

When I received my shiny new Lexmark laser printer - toner recycling was abruptly brought to my attentiveness for a variety of reasons. Firstly there was the inclusion of some nice toner recycling bags with pictures of trees and forests all over them, secondly barely two weeks later my toner cartridge had run out of ink.

Now I was quite shocked about this - I don't print a lot and had unbelievable a laser printer to cut my printing costs slightly and cut the aggravation of replacing toner cartridges all the time. The calculate I discovered was that the cartridges supplied with my laser printer - where (get this) starter cartridges - basically they have produced sealed toner cartridges and put a tiny proportion of ink inside them. So they were now complete and needed to be recycled in their eco-friendly schemes. The environmental impact of producing these cartridges had been already incurred - almost 2 litres of oil per cartridge but because they had virtually no ink in them that had been pretty much wasted.

Recycle Printers

If you buy a new laser printer beware you may have the same 'starter cartridges' inside your printer. I am afraid I was not very impressed with this - I mean why not just fee a small more for the printer and fill the toner cartridges up properly so they don't need to be recycled virtually immediately.

Don't get me wrong - when a cartridge reaches the end of it's useful life then toner recycling is the sensible option but the printer manufacturers are deliberately reducing the life span of these cartridges plainly to make more money (and basically completely ignoring the environmental costs).

A laser toner cartridge could unmistakably be used several times over if the ink could be refilled but the manufacturers took away the refill hole on most and substituted with a toner recycling bag. When clubs like Tonertop up below made kits to refill the cartridges anyway - some manufacturers started putting computer chips which expired after so many prints (fortunately these can also be replaced). This is basically the same as putting a chip in your car so it won't work after 20,000 miles so you have to buy a new one !

The issue shows how so many big clubs pay lip service to environmental issues and their priorities unmistakably don't lie in this area. Maybe we can't blame them after all they are in business to make money not save the environment. It Maybe does lie with us the consumer to buck this trend - please check out how easy it is to reuse your toner cartridges by refilling them with ink before you even need toner recycling.

Printer Technologies That Made Breakthroughs in 2010

This past year has produced many stunning and thoughprovoking technological breakthroughs. The first truly synthetic organism was created, 3D television is now a reality and Apple's iPad hit the market. It seems as though every year there is some new technological breakthrough that takes off.

There also many technological advancements in the world of printers, and Digital Journal contributor Jack Kapica recently talked about some of his beloved products.

Recycle Printers

Hewlett Packard introduced a line of printers based on what Hp calls e-Print, which allows users to send images to printers over the internet thanks to a unique email address attributed to the device.

Hp is specifically focusing on business users and hobbyists with their new technologies. Their e-Print and Share developments allow users to send pictures over the web, straight through an ethernet cable or wireless association to its web-connected printers. The printers sustain up to 10 attachments in a particular email, up to 5 Mb, and offer a protected, more procure mode that limits way to the device to "preferred senders," Kapica explains.

The business has also tapped the "app" market, creating downloadable applications with partners like Yahoo, Facebook and Disney that can print coupons, maps, recipes and more.

Kapica adds that Hp has pushed their green technologies more this past year. Their Hp Deskjet 3050 All-in-One is made with 35 percent recycled plastics and its cartridges comprise up to 70 percent recycled material. It also offers double-sided printing, which saves ink and paper.

Epson unveiled a line of printers and projectors in 2010 that are "making serious moves to claim a position as the printer for the art market," says Kapica. The devices could show off the sophistication and ability of its printing technology for artists.

"For the first time, I saw that for real high-quality prints could be made with relatively straightforward ink printer technology," he writes. "Epson's point is that you don't have to spend ferocious amounts of money to get high-quality prints."

The printers unveiled this year by Epson were more consumer-oriented. They also offer museum quality, large-format printing for artists and photographers, but the less high-priced versions still offer lots of benefits.

Epson also introduced two new all-in-one printers that can print, scan and copy, but can also connect to a home wireless network. They offer wireless and ethernet networking, and some can print from a mobile device and originate photo books, greeting cards and coloring book pages, says Kapica.

Review Gist recently named the Canon Pixma Mx340 Wireless Office All-in-One as the best printer of 2010, based on the website's investigate of printer reviews from online experts.

Recycling in School guidance

Recycling is becoming more and more popular as there are now so many options, help and guidance for you. The problem is that are our children being taught about recycling? Lets face it they will be here when we are gone and they need to safe the world and help preclude additional problems. Furthermore recycling will be needed even more twenty or so more years down the line. I've decided to help inform you how you can recycle in schools and give children guidance and information when it comes to recycling.

Although the Uk is very small there are colse to 35,000 schools within the Uk and all of these should be teaching children how to recycle and take part.

Recycle Printers

Don't forget the easiest recycling material in schools is paper. Not only can paper be recycled but it can be reused by using scrap paper for trivial work which you don't have to keep. The local council can be contacted and they will send out a recycling bin if you haven't yet got one for your paper. Paper consumes an ample ¼ of the waste from schools and this can all be recycled.

If teachers are motivated about recycling and understand it then they will be able to inform the children and guide them in the right direction.

A compost bin can sometimes be provided for free which can also help with the recycling program. Get everyone complex and have one man monitor what goes into the compost bin. You'll find that vegetable cutting from lunch, coffee granules and tea bags can go into the bin. Once it's started to rot down you can then use it on the school grounds to make beds and grass areas grow better.

If you're struggling to get the children to understand recycling then do role plays and educational activates with story boards and videos to help educate them.

Inkjet Recycling For Cash - Recycle Ink Cartridges For Printers

Most homes that have a computer also have a printer. The most tasteless form of printer is the Inkjet which uses a aggregate of either black, black & colour or colour cartridges to form an image.

Inkjet is a word first used by Canon who pioneered the first commercially available printers in 1990 that rapidly heat ink to fire a jet at paper.

Recycle Printers

Today, its popularity grown from cheap running costs and photo quality have made the examine for cartridges high.

Estimates say that colse to 35 millions inkjet cartridges are thrown disposed of each year. Unfortunately, most of these go right to landfill. The rest are either re-filled, returned to the constructor or recycled.

Where To Recycle

There are many places that allow population to dispose of their old cartridges for recycling such as supermarkets, computer shops, printer shops and online.

Luckily there are places that will give cash for inkjet recycling online. Whatever can look up their make and model of printer cartridge, post it free, then receive colse to £1 for each.

There are some homes that will have a drawer full of these, some will be worth something while others wont, but they should still be disposed of in the spoton way to stop the landfill problem.

Schools can advantage more from this inkjet recycling for cash scheme because practically 350 cartridges are used every year. That could be £350 for a school.

Businesses are an additional one who could greatly advantage from this. Even if they are not worth anything, there are places that recycle old cartridges for the advantage of the environment. This should be part of any company's large or small 'Corporate and communal Responsibility'.

Inkjet Cartridges Recycling

Anyone who has 5 or more cartridges that are on the list of wanted cartridges can earn one pound for each one. Any that are not wanted will still be correctly disposed of.

To find out which cartridges are approved for a cash return visit the website for the list. Once 5 have been added to the basket a registration form must be completed then the cartridges can be sent. If there are less than 5 inkjet cartridges, old mobile phones and iPods can also be recycled along with the cartridges.

Why Should Everyone Recycle Printer Toner Cartridges?

Many people are unaware of the seriousness of an abominable pile of discarded empty toner cartridges that are dumped in landfills around the country. At a rate of around eight cartridges that we dump into landfills per second, the congestion is alarming. Thus, to recycle printer toner cartridges must be made mandatory and the reckless dumping be lawfully declared illegal. Before this spot calls for strict measures, some manufacturers have already designed cartridges with possess holes. This allows recycling by using refills such as the brother toner refill.
People who recycle printer toner cartridges comprise only ten percent of over 250 million cartridges that come our landfills annually. We must be aware that even conserving one cartridge per second actually improves environmental control efforts. Everyone must therefore unite to create recycling and control efforts successful. Here are the three effective methods recommended to recycle empty toner cartridges.
Recycle through toner refill kits. This is perhaps the most sought after way since empty cartridges are fair refilled with toner and then reused. Cartridges can survive at least three refills so it contributes to the reduction of manufacturing processes, decreasing the amount of pollutants in the atmosphere, and the preservation of oil that are venerable to execute these cartridges. A brother toner refill or any other cartridge refill goes a long arrangement to abet in the struggle for the conservation of the environment.
Recycle by remanufacturing the cartridge. This intention seeks to extend the printing capability of a cartridge beyond that of any brother toner refill processes. Usually, a cartridge suffers from degrading prints after four lifetimes, but remanufacturing extends its capability for life. The process is done by dismantling a ghastly cartridge and saving its safe parts while replacing the damaged components. Then reassembly is performed, a current shot of toner is administered, and the cartridge is post tested before loaded to the printer.
Recycle printer toner cartridges through well-behaved recycling facilities. Most cartridges have free return labels attached to the packaging so users can send the empties to recycling facilities. The empties are then crushed, metal parts are separated, and the plastic casing is pulverized for reuse to other applications. This is considered as a helpful act of protecting the environment and all it really needs is everyone's commitment to recycle printer toner cartridges to cut the pile of e-garbage in our landfills.
Whether you exercise a  Brother toner refill kit  or any effect name refill product, rest assured that you made a colossal contribution to recycling.
